UTM Attribution with Events
When a visitor arrives via a UTM-tagged link, their session is linked to that UTM. Any events triggered during the session are attributed to that UTM. To analyze:
- Filter your dashboard by a UTM parameter (e.g., utm_campaign=spring_sale).
- View the entry pages in the Pages box and event completions in the Events box for that UTM.
Best Practices for UTM Tracking
- Include UTMs in all inbound links (ads, social posts, emails).
- Filter dashboards by UTMs to measure campaign performance.
- Track various event types (form submissions, clicks, purchases) and attribute them to UTMs.
- Customize conversion calculations in site settings to use pageviews or people.
